A successful launch
Since June 2020 and the return to the shop after lockdown I have developed a new series of art. These are the A6 original art postcard pieces which I sell for £5.00. Compared to my other work they are under-priced.
The original concept was to draw more small original art pieces, keep a photographic record for myself and try out a range of locations and activities. Today I added my latest piece that I started to draw yesterday.
I greatly enjoy the variety of topics, the mixture of pen and ink with colour pieces. There is no planned strategy, they are usually based on recent photos taken on walks or being out and about.
I have built some new fans who like these as they fit nicely in flats and caravans with limited space. They have allowed others to buy pieces of my work which they then return to add to on future visits.
This afternoon I thought to myself how many have I drawn? As I sold a sunset at Worth Matravers by Woodhenge this morning. I am always thinking that I need to draw more and conscious that I have one commission left which is on target for delivery to a local family for Christmas that I can soon add to the 7 currently available in the shop.
So, I have drawn 52 of these cards for general sale and also done one as a commission. There are 7 in the shop which means 45 original pieces of art sold in the last 6 months at this scale alone.
I am now going to share some examples and say a bit about the background behind them.
