We are open again…
A long day. Excitement , anticipation …I was awake at 06:30, I was in the shop by 08:00 working on final, preparations. At 09:00 I spoke with my PR consultant re. TV interview strategy. By 10:00 ish I had a phone call, I was bumped by other news. It was a jolt but I hung on in there. I had been so caught up in preparing for this big break to make a visual impact to a wider audience.
Meanwhile the shop opened and the first customer had been before and commented that the accessible prices to introduce people to art that I have made it harder to resist. He chose one of the original art postcards. A positive start.
Later in the day I sold two more original art postcards – guess what I shall be drawing more of before or on Saturday at the latest. I also sold 9 greetings cards. A visitor who had seen my draft pictures celebrating Pip Hare’s return from the Vendee Globe. I also had contact that I was included in a Dorset Echo article today about shops reopening and later Swanage News also came and took some, pictures and some quotes.
A day in the shop – there must be some creativity in there too,and there was. I started a Pip Hate wooden hexagon box linked to her Vendee Globe achievement, I added another layer of colour to the logo on my duster coast from El’s vintage workwear in Bournemouth and I started to add the Portland Bill Christmas card design to the Christmas card advertising outfit.
After work I went for a beach walk and this evening I am tired but in a very positive way.
Day two tomorrow starts with a business network zoom at 08:00 hours before the shop.
