Friday – art for fun and new work
Friday was a touristy day in our own town, a extensive blog about the places we visited is on my personal blog – http://www.mishmashlearning.Wordpress.com .
So I sketched for fun and focus and I suppose practise too – the detail in one of the railing sections while sat in the sun and sheltered from the breeze at the end of the pier. This will take many visits and is in my PY sketch pad to continue with.
Photos taken there and on an early walk to add to my inspiration sources.
We visited the ‘Purbeck New Wave Gallery’ and saw the new work that is up by a growing variety of artists both Purbeck resident and part time residents.
Another bit of sketching before lunch at ‘Java Independent Coffee House’ just as I used to before the shop and the business side expanded – items on our table, a ‘still life’ I suppose. Incomplete as our friends arrived for lunch.
An afternoon kayak and some more photos from the sea. This afternoon post paddle I worked on some original art postcards having been inspired while syncing and downloading photos from the camera memory card. These will go on sale this morning in the shop. I could stop taking photos and still have years of inspiration material.
An energetic day with lots of exercise , but never feeling like being energetic, more a cumulative total. Also a day with sketching because I like to, sometimes lost in the ongoing production of new work for the shop. It is the side of my art that I mustn’t lose.
Today I will be in the shop from 10:00 to 17:00, on to be honest I shall probably be there pre 10:00, if so f l free to call in early. But less energetic today, honest.
