Saturday = shop and more art output
So another shop day and just focusing on my work, my time and making more art. Last nights thunderstorms meant a very humid start to the day and Anne came to the shop with me so a careful descent of the hill from home.
So as Anne had the wheelchair to get around we kept the back door of the shop shut. An early sale of some cards and then essentially a fairly quiet day until mid afternoon. Some enquiries about the work that I am not selling while I wait for a response to how the other artist wishes to deal with the breakdown in the business premises share.
A friend came in with two of her grandchildren and granddaughter did some art for fun which she enjoyed and gave positive feedback on how easy the ProMarkers were to use.
I drew a second of recent A6 postcards based on photos by my mate Simon who posts most days on Fb and has a good eye for a picture photographer or drawn.
Then as the base of my screen stand had fallen apart, clearly doesn’t like being moved every time I am on / off duty, I decided to use the two pieces of timber to make some solid scaffold board signs when I am in the shop for Art for fun. I used Posca markers for the lettering.
A local artist picked up some Purbeck Art Weeks literature to distribute, as I am acting as the Swanage hub. We also chatted about he effects I have learnt to produce using the ProMarkers.
In the afternoon I sold a Corfe Sunset framed print and had enquiries but not sales for other pieces too.
Back for Mon, Tue, Sat for the next fortnight and not on Wednesday duty again until Wed. August 11. Hoping to entice more people to come in and have a go at Art for fun.
Also made contact with previous customers about new works which they expressed a possible interest in earlier in the year.
