AndyKnillArt Studio opening day 2

So, two days out and now it must be Saturday although days seem to melt into each other at the moment. I woke early so mounted four more prints ready for PAW21 before breakfast.

Down at the shop by about 9.15 once set up with tables outside I was sat drawing more long after 9.30 and chose to draw an original postcard based on the inflatable rescue we had witnessed last night near the sailing club.

Cue….Flamingo rescue, Swanage

I posted this on social media including the sailing club fb page as the kayak was stored under one of the Dart 18s so they may see it.

Some more drawing for me then some sales am and friends dropping by including a request for my Lino print which I must make new prints of for sale,

Art for fun was 7 today, three children and four adults which was nice. Lots of discussions about places, Purbeck, sea creatures, the key factor was that everyone had a good time and some great reviews,.

Aged 9 – and great discussions about sea creatures and the colour of sand
Bucking the family trend of sea creatures
Lots of observational detail
“I can’t draw a dog” was the conversation starter…
Unsure a what to draw – maybe use a card for an idea – this was a hard choice (in artists opinion ie. mine)

I did mount some prints this afternoon for a bit and then more drawing for fun. The shop has had a very positive start. Next week I have three consecutive days open which will start more of a routine but also taking work to Rollington and collecting latest prints and cards from my printer.

A week’s time on Saturday 11th sees Purbeck Art Weeks (PAW21) start and a busy fortnight. Bring it on…
