PAW day 10/14
Today I put out some posts on my Facebook accounts to confirm that Monday 27 September I am closing the shop and having a day off after 13 consecutive days, a good decision knowing how tired I will be by the end of Saturday.
At the shop for just before 10 and my first art focus was mounting and framing my 1/5 linocut hand printed pieces.

I have decided on a very limited edition of 5 pieces for this first piece. As I develop my linocut skills I may extend edition numbers, neutral I am keen to make pieces exclusive to own. I did some research from Lino artists I follow on how to title / #tag and price based on size of piece and edition size. It will be interesting to see how popular they are and of course I have 4 more cotton rag paper ones to hand print yet using my baren and the cotton rag paper I sourced from PookiPresses.
Art focus two was to add to the boiler suit map I had started yesterday. Initially I went over the white symbols created with Gellyroll white pen yesterday with a fine poscamarker. Then I added a key in he bottom left of the map, this included the symbols for smaller craft / activities and I named the larger ones by the symbols at the mouth of Poole Harbour. I then named locations and marked on hill ridge names and spot heights. Pleased as a geographer and an artist, not a combination I often acknowledge but who I am.

Art focus three was to develop a new hat again with geographical links back to a combination of images that I used in introductory geography lessons to Year 7s when defining what geography encompassed as a subject and relevant to the work and intentions of Planet Purbeck who are of course holding their inaugural festival this week.
The hat is to be Planet Purbeck themed and probably kept as an example of what can be done with a hat, used for spotting features for younger children… This hat is now started ..

Art focus four answering questions / talking to visitors of whom I had a few more this afternoon. Also providing the opportunity for ‘Art for fun’ – the same three participants as yesterday – Anne and mother and daughter.

I now have four more days to add to the legs on the boiler suit which I shall do and as promised I will wear it for my duty at Rollington Barn on Sunday 27th. I will also add to the hat.
