‘‘Twas the start of the Christmas week…”

Monday, in other words. How do you start your day in Christmas week 2021 – must be lateral flow test time…clear again, phew.

A breezy walk down and along the front.

At the shop, then went to do some errands first and expecting that today could be quiet as effective temperature about 5C. Following the pattern set by wearing the cloud suit on Saturday evening, the next Artisans on the Beach 2017 outfit was worn today with the Christmas bells sweater and a new character was born…’Pen-Goo’ the artist.

Pen-Goo was a warm artist today with his sailing thermal layer then Penguin onesie and the Christmas sweater. He occasionally left the shop to greet and chat with passers by outside.

A voicemail as he had forgotten to reset phone volume after Panto rehearsal yesterday from the lady who previously bought lots of Santa through Durdle Door Christmas cards – did I have more! Was I open? I rang back to confirm.

A regular seasonal visitor popped in with children for some cards. Sales had started. Then the lovely but slightly manic Helen Overton with her girls visited and agreed to some indoors Art for Fun. As they settled in, a new customer and some newly reduced in,price calendars and a framed PAW Studio in the Snow were leaving the shop.

Then Mrs Durdle Door cards came and bought almost as many cards again. By now Pen-Goo was a very happy artist – sales beyond his wildest expectations for today.

The girls finished their art. The afternoon included a late lunch, two visits from my passing son and some more friends / passers by.

Todays combo as Pen-Goo was so warm he is going to make a regular appearance this week subject to spillages or any change in tests status. So Tuesday 10 to 5 – come and say hi…
