My art for fun

I draw and now trying linocuts because my art is my well-being therapy and I enjoy it. However today I did the element of my drawing that I have lost a bit since I started selling and having my working in a shop.

I used to draw on scraps of paper, photo paper, paper napkins and leave items of art for people to find or sometimes I would gift a sketch to someone. I did this when I was drawing way before AndyKnillArt was even an idea as it brought me joy too.

Today Anne got an original card for Valentines drawn for her based on a recent special memory from a local walk.

We visited several places today that have inspired other works and also commissions from customers. At two cafes that I have drawn in and left pieces before that’s what I did before.

Pav at The Pink Goat has a commissioned hat from me ordered by his staff for his birthday. He also commissioned me to draw two cards for the business and his personal Christmas card for 2020. The designs are used on his business cards and website.

The other cafe is Java where I often did napkin drawings which at one point were kept in the drawers of a cabinet that was in the cafe – I also encouraged other artists to draw one day and we had Tara, myself, Lucy and Gina all did pieces.

Selling my art is nice and I feel honoured that people consider spending money to have some of my work. Just 5 years ago I was touched if someone wanted to keep a sketch by me. How things have changed, but that enjoyment of just drawing is still here,if it ever goes I will need to find something else to do.
