Art for my fun
I provide the opportunity for 12 months of the year for others to do some “art for fun” but it remains an activity I do too because my art is still about me having fun.
This week a holiday in Woolacombe, Devon and I am taking lots of photos of waves breaking, rocky coastline, slate walls, …they will be the inspiration for art works for me going forwards. The places in this week’s weather where I can sit and draw in the moment are cafes and their views. I brought with me my new Kraft A5 sketch pad. I have drawn in two local cafes on two occasions each. In one I have posted both pics on social media and they have shared. In the other that just happened with todays pic which was far more detailed.
Both cafes today were given my drawings because I had the fun of drawing them, I enjoyed the process and challenge and yes I enjoyed their reaction to them too – they are both talking about framing my pieces and hanging them in the cafe – that’s a sense of achievement / honour.
