Evening stroll and some morning plans

So, Sunday was busier than originally planned. Lots of our local friends wouldn’t be surprised about that at all.

From an art point of view I took a selection of photos on our morning walk including time on the pier, watching the sailing club going out to race, seafront. I started a sketch after my lunch but lost interest in doing it pretty quickly, instead we watched the BorderForce patrol ship sitting off the bay.

This afternoon we went to East Lulworth and visited The Shoot Room with a number of local artists that I know from my time in Purbeck Artisan Yard – our first time ever going into East Lulworth, what a pretty village. We drove back over the ridge behind Worbarrow Bay, Tyneham, dropped down past Creech Hall, passed East Creech tearooms and the Blue Pool then onto the Studland road. A visit to Rollington barn was too early to collect my work. So onto Shell Bay and we sat on the dunes watching pats entering and leaving Poole harbour plus windsurfers, kitewings and a variety of power and sail craft and the chain ferry.

Home via the shop to leave the work to sort out this week. Then we took the pith helmet and boiler suit home – these will be worn on my sketching trip with the primary school children this week.

This evening’s stroll included checking out the drawing base and the different options the children caught choose from.

So a non art day supposedly – lol, it’s like when I as on a non teaching day – geography always made its presence known.
