Terrific Tuesday

Best Tuesday for sales since September 2021 during PAW 2021 and the month I opened AndyKnillStudio. So today was good for sales but also constructive with work done / completed.

First work task was labelling and putting on sale cards 11 to 18 of the Kayaker series featuring my Linoprint cut. Then I went onto work on a birthday commissioned hexagonal box which I started last week post Purbeck Art Weeks. Today I completed the final surface the upper lid and let the clients know that it is ready for collection. Finally work wise I completed the school boxes and frames for the pupils to draw in next Monday for this year’s final sessions with years 3 and 4 classes at Swanage Primary School. Tomorrow I will do some planning about he ‘tree’ element of that final session which will involve using several of my own pieces that feature trees and look at how we can sketch the same feature in different amounts of detail, this will also build on at least one of the sketching tasks on Swanage seafront last week.

Visitors today bought an original postcard of St Aldhelms Chapel from a couple staying in Worth Matravers. Then I sold three older design prints of Look East, Prince Albert Gardens and the Bay, North from Purbeck Ridge. This made today such a successful sales day.

Then a visit from a couple where the gentleman mentioned that he used to be based at Imperial College and had been Director of he Royal School of Mines, two spells after my uncle. We shared stories about Imperial which has strong connections from my paternal grandfather, my dad, uncle and my younger sister.

A good shop day. Tomorrow some planning for next week’s sketching session. Some stock taking checks with cards especially and I will treat myself to some drawing too.
