Adults do Art for Fun

I didn’t post yesterday, Saturday July 2.

At the shop I had 8 adults do Art for Fun from 10 am through to about 1pm – it was wonderful to have adults taking part, it is an age group I want to involve more.

Local friend Pam took part after many requests to try it at some point. She coincided with Sue and Pam – sisters who had gone to school in Swanage at Newton Manor. Later Jess, a regular visitor brought her Mum to have a go to. They were followed by three more.

Unusually no children participants, although three of the pupils who drew on the boilersuit last Monday either visited or their parents did during the week and in fact I am returning to school on Monday as up to 12 children missed doing a picture and offering that opportunity is important to me.

I have had some correspondent with a local secondary school art teacher hoping that in the future we might interest some teens in using the activity as a mental health therapy.

The smaller table outside was because of a mixed forecast which led to me setting up an indoor and outdoor drawing spaces in case.

As we head towards the summer holidays and mor events in Swanage I hope to see many more people of all ages coming to enjoy art for fun – current total 543.
