April… a busy month

In this month I have…

Taken part in Artist Showdown in central Bournemouth

Distributed Pier Journal vol 12 in Swanage and Purbeck

Hosted 80 for Art for Fun at the studio

Had three days where art could be down outside the studio

Hosted my first guest artist of the year

Drawn a number of smaller pieces including a commission.

Ending the month with road resurfacing in the Heart of Swanage

So,

Artist Showdown

I was up against Isabelle Pepin of ArtThrobs Studios. Isabelle won the nights votes, I took one supporter with me but her work is also more dynamic than a guy drawing solely in Poscas. However, an enjoyable evening and discovering what I could draw in 1 hr and 40 mi utes from memory was an interesting exercise.

My final piece. I asked 21 in the pub for their fav views of Swanage
. And Purbeck and only 3 agreed
Before the showdown I had collected my boxes of Pier Journal which I have now distributed and introduced some new businesses to,
Guest artist list is posted
Hayley Bentham

Hayley’s colourful cards proved popular over the school Easter holidays and also discussions about subject matter and style since. Isabelle has dropped her work off ready for May display.

Art for Fun has hosted 80 in April with some outdoor sessions

I have mainly been. Drawing smaller pieces over a variety of topics including sealife, agricultural machinery and characters linked to mussels.

En plein air sketching

A shop move around to put me back drawing by the window and manage art outside and indoors. At 21a new shop neighbours re painting and setting up – news once they open.
