A change of plans…covid-19
Well I did my last shop shift on March 21 and decided I should self-isolate because of my asthma. The following Thursday the shop was shut for the lockdown.
Good news – The Courtyard Studio will open its doors again once it is allowed to be and I and Jo will be back selling our work, welcoming visitors and friends and supporting all outer fellow local businesses.
My work remains in the Purbeck Artisan Yard and with HappyHay Clothing / Emporium. Again I will restart depending on what is happening after lockdown.
April has started and I was to be guest resident artist at The Knoll House hotel, Studland – we will be rearranging this too. Purbeck Art Weeks has been cancelled for 2020 and that has taken some pressure off for producing new work.
I have started to produce some new pieces as my mind has settled and I am able to focus for longer again. Some are just for my own amusement, others will be available post lockdown.
I haven’t used this period to set myself lots of targets as some days are easier to cope with than others. I do intend to try and make my online accounts share my growing portfolio better and share what is available in card, print and original formats.
It is great each day to chat online with friends and other artists developing ideas which for many artists is similar to the isolating they do anyway. I miss the interactions with others.
