Designing and deciding on a logo after 3.5 years
At last an idea that links with much of my work which to date has focused in the Purbeck area of Dorset and will continue to going forwards.
Much of my labelling of work at events and even in The Courtyard Studio has been handwritten and even on scrap pieces of cardboard.
I decided that it was time that I looked at what my work includes and a logo that links to my pen and ink based work. The design is still hand drawn in its original form. I spent time deciding on a font to base the lettering on and after some deliberation and reducing the choices gradually to use “Avenir”.
I have now hand drawn and written on the Pith helmet I bought earlier in the year with the intention of decorating it at some point. I have started a new hand drawn and coloured boiler suit which will feature the logo and background colours around the torso. This set of overalls will be kept clear of other art as it will act as a clear way to introduce who I am when in art business mode.
Other plans include a mural on the wall above my bay at the Purbeck Artisan Yard using the theme from some of my bestselling cards as well but offering visitors an example of my work on a larger scale.
When exhibiting and displaying my work for sale I intend to produce stickers to feature a more professional labelling approach.
