Open for one month
The Courtyard Studio – Art in the Heart of Swanage has now been open for one month since the return from lockdown. A big thank you to all of our visitors and customers and for following the notices and guidelines for COVID 19. Please can all visitors ensure that they use the hand sanitiser provided by the door.
From next Friday July 24th we will also expect all visitors to wear a face mask when entering the shop.The signs for the shop will be updated once the official guidance for shopkeepers has been published on http://www.gov.uk.
Art for fun is not possible yet but Andy has some ideas to share with anyone looking for art activities over the summer season. We have Promarker pen sets available at pre lockdown prices and now offer Hirameki postcards with 6 ink patterns ready to draw for £0.50.
Andy has created a new lower cost way to buy a piece of original art – A6 pieces (postcard sized) for £5. These are on his display table at the front of the shop and include a range of pen & ink and coloured pieces using markers.
Small easel canvases, local boat framed,pictures and hand drawn wooden boxes also offer ways to own original pieces from £10 to 30.
Andy wears his hand drawn pith helmet as often as possible dependent on the temperature in the shop or has it on show while he creates more art at his drawing table. There are two pith style hats which feature original drawings of Swanage Bay views, one is £15 and the other is £20. They are truly unique and in their first week on sale we haven’t had someone of a suitably extrovert nature to buy them.
I look forward to welcoming you to the shop. I work on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays (2 week cycle – I am next on shift July 22, then August 12th and 19th). We are open seven days a week from 10 am to 5 pm.
