Apologies for the absent artist
I used to be a regular blogger on a personal level and when I set up AndyKnillArt.com that was my intention. Life in 2020 has got in the way somewhat and my direction as an artist has changed quite a bit.
I now have two online spaces:
This blog/ account which I never gave enough time too but which I want to reestablish as a means of regular communication on work produced and development with the sales side of my art.
The shop linked by my card reader provider Square. This is at https://www.AndyKnillArt.shop and will be my sales space alongside the physical shop once that can reopen too.
I also run two Facebook and Instagram accounts as:
AndyKnillArt – Https://www.Instagram.com/Andy.knill
– https://www.Facebook.com/AndyKnillArt
Andy at The Courtyard Studio – Art in the heart of Swanage
– https://www.Instagram.com/Andythecourtyardstudio ( this link needs to be fixed I am aware see Instagram andy@thecourtyardstudio
– https://www.Facebook.com/andysartintheheartofswanage
This week I have set up a new group called “Art for Fun” through the latter Facebook account to encourage people to use art as a distraction as England goes into its second lockdown. This helps as the art for fun table in the shop was dismantled as social distancing meant it was not possible to run it.
The group aims to not be:
– competitive
– judgemental
– comparative
It will look at what materials we may have at home and can use without incurring extra expenditure. I launched the idea last night with members of the Purbeck Business Community Group that I joined earlier in 2020 and who have been a great moral and business support tool as I balance a hobby and business that is developing much further than I ever thought possible.
So, this is where I am at today Tuesday November 3rd. Tomorrow is my last day in the shop while it is open to customers for at least four weeks. I took lots of photographs today and later in the week I will start to upload all of my work onto the shop online. This will be a further new adventure. One thing I have to be careful to monitor is that I don’t pace myself and try to do too much too soon, an error characteristic of my past life as a teacher.
Thanks for reasing
Andy
