Spread the love – day 4 – #indie week
Today’s post is about mentioning other artists and crafters and I have also mentioned other independent businesses. But knowing so many people in this field now, choosing is so hard.

This is the image I used, not artists with businesses but sharing the love of art and emphasising that art is about fun, therapy. It doesn’t have to be elitist, exclusive which is how some people in the art area make it feel to outsiders.
I look forward to when social distancing does not have to be used to prevent pandemic spread. I know that may still be another year away but “Art for fun” is still my personal emphasis around why I do art and how I encourage others to participate.
I will be reopening the shop as my shift is on Wednesday December 2nd at 10am. I will be welcoming people back but as a Tier 2 area, and to be honest my own need to protect customers and myself the shop will have the same covid expectations we had before:
– hand sanitiser is provided on entering the shop – art needs to be browsed, I have greetings cards in a carousel, I have art prints, I have original work that between them number over 100 designs and I want you to be able to see all of them. The cellophane wrappers allow me to clean each item and the browsers / carousel and the hand sanitiser helps you to shield your own hands and those of other visitors.
– masks need to be worn, yes if you are a person with an exception I look out for the lanyards that let me know. I have invested in two screens that I sell from behind and draw from behind because this is my studio and I want to continue drawing while on shift. When I come forward of the screens into the same shop space as my customers and visitors I wear my mask.
– the shop has a central island which helps social distancing and I ask that visitors respect others, I will call you in it if this is not the case because everyone who comes in is allowed to feel safe. I limit visitors to 4 at a time. If your family /support bubble has more than 4 then you may come in as the sole visitors. If you arrive and there are enough people and you don’t notice this I will ask you to wait outside and tell you when it is safe.
– pets are still welcome in the shop and we offer dog treats and the water bowl is outside on my days with fresh water that day.
If you are aware that you have covid symptoms please do not come in – orders can be made by contacting me and I can deliver in BH19 or BH20. Collection from the shop can be done at the door. I want us to be open whenever outer tier or local conditions allow.
