It’s all in a day at the shop

Hi, a shop day ideally would be lots of shoppers buying items. In reality it’s cold, it’s Tuesday, people are trying to stay healthy so, no we didn’t have that many customers today. I sold Christmas cards and this included a new achievement – I have now sold over 4000 greetings cards since I started my art adventure. In fact over 1550 of those sales are of my Christmas card series.

So what do you do when there aren’t many customers? Well at present I continue to work on commissions and projects. Today this meant that I completed a commission of the local landscape that had been paused while I got my new marker pens.

Very pleased with the outcome and sent picture to the client to reconfirm posting details before I send it tomorrow.

Then I returned to the wooden tray / wooden picture that I had started yesterday. This was completed and has gone off for varnishing, later in the day I got a new tray to draw the next picture. I am looking forward to what feedback we get from shop visitors / customers.

Two drawings in a day is reasonable. I then started the wooden box commission that is to be a christmas present. Like other large boxes that I have drawn previously this will have five pictures on it, one on the top of the box on the lid and four around each side of the box. I can’t share the pictures as it would give away who the work is for. Three pictures completed today and a fourth partially complete.

Hopefully tomorrow it will be completed too.

This evening I am going to rest my brain mainly as the concentration and focus is now making itself felt. overall, I can say I had a good day as an artist, I enjoyed the challenges, outcomes and look forward to having another company,teed commission very soon, that late hat piece may yet be done for Christmas too.
