Happy New Year 2021

So, we start a new year, now in Tier 3 and Bournemouth and Poole where many visitors come from is in Tier 4 so an even quieter January so I am going to work my four days this week at the shop but then consider which days to remain open. The online shop will be open for greeting cards, prints and I will be uploading more original pieces inc. art postcards.

So today was my second non shop day this week and for the second day the conditions meant it was suitable to be out in Swanage bay on one of my kayaks. I have come away with some particular locations in the bay where I want to try sketching from the kayak where possible for another different viewpoint. Then this afternoon we walked to the north end of the bay that I had visited this morning again, different states of the tide, geology, the sense of scale from sitting under Ballard Down all offer possible subjects going forwards.

Kayak art – I have done some previously but more scope
The bay from the water, with more sea conditions included
Local geology and changes with he weather and mass movement (landslides etc)
The shoreline of the bay in its different states
Possible sketching from the water, but will need to be warmer
