Silver Linings
Marchmeetthemaker day 19 prompt. Here are the photos I shared today as my life has several silver linings.

I wake up everyday to a view of the Swanage bay and the wider Bay Area of Bournemouth sometimes as far as Hurst Castle, Hampshire. We moved into the flat inAugust 2020 after living for four years up on the Houns Tout ridge with here generations of our family.

This used to be a 2km walk from our front door and we would often go down after dinner and sit as watch the sea, the birds soaring and the boats and ships passing.

We have walked several sections of the past pay locally and walked on the ridges and in the valleys, we still have so much to explore.

This is world heritage site for its geological significance but it has so many other natural bonuses too.

Poole harbour, a great place in a kayak and this was a course I want on with H2O adventures. This got me into sea kayaking and I have even been on a trip across from Hurst Castle to Alum Bay on the Isle of Wight.

Swanage Bay is a great space to kayak in even on my own. I know my limits, carry safety equipment and can out on the water quickly at most times of the year subject to suitable conditions.

The Argo at the back is Anne and I last summer on our first season learning to sail together. It’s complex but what a way to be out in the bay together.

Having a permanent year round home for my art in The Courtyard Studio has also given me the chance to offer Art for Fun to all ages (except during covid pandemic). Every photo before this has shown just some of the inspirations I share and use for my artwork. This is the philosophy that I want to continue to share going on from 2021.

I have become a bit of a local character in penguin onesies and the hand drawn hat and boilersuits, Swanage accepts its eccentrics generally and that is a silverlining for me.
I left my first career as a teacher when my mental health couldn’t continue, I did manage 28 years service. Moving to Purbeck allowed me in an art and creative friendly area to try and see if my art would sell. Four years as a business later, I get to be a professional artist selling more work each year, drawing commissions requested by clients because they like my style.I work half the week and have half a week as a retired teacher to enjoy my local area. That is my true silver lining.
