Walk, notice, photograph, network, d..zzzzzz

Not quite the same sequence today. We had planned to have a walk with our son as a support bubble today. In the last few days we have been reading a range of posts on different sites linked to self- compassion and mental health where noticing has come up a few times. As you can see from my posts I believe in taking time to look at my surroundings. Our son gets wrapped up in his own head sometimes so we thought some extra noticing.

So the same route for the third consecutive day as the tide would allow it. We met him in the town square and headed out, after the banjo pier we went on the beach and I had another day of clambering over the groynes making my legs stretch more than they would normally be asked to – noticing less flexibility.

Did he notice more things? We would like to think so, but maybe because we drew his attention to them.

After the walk we headed home, lunched and then back out to check my shop and food shop. On return my intention had been to draw but after a hot drink I was wiped out so sleep won over drawing.

This afternoon and also this morning my recent networking led to stories posted by others including my artwork.

The best surprise today linked to this older post

Posted in Feb 2018

I used to leave pieces of art drawn on photo paper or paper napkins lining around in cafes for people to find and pick up. On this occasion I had noted (151w ago) that a child had seen the napkin and picked it up at the National Trust cafe on Knoll beach, Studland and today this post was received.

Someone’s treasure

I replied and said if ever this way post covid come and see me at the shop. I previously had napkins at this cafe found and kept by a variety of members of cafe staff and a lady who emailed me the same day to say she had taken her picture home and framed it. The “Art for fun”principle in practise. I don’t do this anymore but may occasionally in the future to remind me where my art for fun idea is rooted.

So no drawings to share today but I noticed that I needed rest and I took it which is a positive for me. Hope your day was good.
