Responding to events
Yesterday Anne and I went to Shell Bay, Studland and watched Pip Hare global solo sailer return to Poole Harbour. I took a number of photos using my longer zoom leans and also some video clips using my phone. This afternoon I have drawn two first draft ideas of pictures to mark this special occasion.
While I was drawing I thought I would experiment with the camera setting on my iPad and see if I could make a passable time lapse video of the process involved and then add a voiceover on to the video. Both were filmed and then processed in Tik Tok and also shared into Instagram too. I think this is a technique I will use again but will film smaller sections of the drawing perhaps in more detail.
The two draft pictures are a good record of yesterday too and include the RNLI boat out on trial – Shannon 13-39 from headquarters and the police boat Buccaneer. The second picture focuses on Pip stood by the bow and her one remaining pulpit bars on the port side. While holding a red flare as she did when she sailed up the channel in France.
Feedback on the video clips and the drawings would be very welcome, thanks.
