Reels

Marchmeetthemaker day29 prompt. In this case the reels are video clips made in Instagram. I did two, they weren’t amazing and it took several attempts to it but they did include the reference to my reel lockdown hairstyle.

So social media posts today and then off to the shop. More tidying of decorating lines and window cleaning.

Real life

Later after lunch down by the beach a meeting with my fellow co-tenant. No matters resolved because I wouldn’t agree to their proposal much in the same way that they wouldn’t accept my solution on sharing of all space in the shop. The key sticking point is the shop cakes with a scaffold board wall from the previous tenant.

Fellow artist has 3.1 metres of the wall, I have 2.37 metres. They have more window and wall space than me but want to fob me off with pieces that are not prime art hanging space. I want more of that wall – stalemate. The key thing though was that I stayed calm, I came away afterwards with a strategy to let off steam and I didn’t fold and offer a compromise as I have tended to do for 14 months.

New developments

I am using some of my government grant money to invest in PR using a local agency Jurassic Creative. Our current focus reopening of the shop on April 12. I have already had some business media publicity in Dorset. Today after the above meeting I had a radio interview online.

This week I hope to get my new advertising logo window vinyls up which go with the decoration of my sections of non scaffold board wall in my logo colours.

I have some other developments coming including developing a local trader group for our part of town. I have already volunteered to take a lead in identifying and sharing local businesses that welcome dogs.

So, yes I have a lot of plans coming to fruition and I am so looking forward to being back serving customers, answering questions and sharing my love of art as a fun activity for all of us.

Later…

I treated myself to a kayak in Swanage Bay on the first day that outdoor sports reopens from lockdown. I took some photos from the sea looking towards the land and these will go into my albums of possible inspirations to draw.

A good day. Two more days of MarchMeettheMaker prompt posts and onto new headings….
