Drawing and decisions day

First the art aspects:

Today I put my drawing from Swanage pier earlier in the week up for sale on the original art postcards display.

In between moving in and out of the shop due to small showers of rain I drew two new original art postcards from memories. Firstly yesterday afternoon’s kayak paddle in the bay and watching someone out wakeboarding.I added some extra local boats too.

Then a favourite local scene – Heavens Gate which is found on the ridge path between Swyre Head and Kimmeridge. The view takes in the Heavens gate bench in front of a gap knocked in the drystone wall. You can see Kimmeridge and Clavell’s tower, the next ridge is Gadd’s cliff and then Worbarrow Bay in the background.

This does promote the idea that I must produce some larger pieces of work based on previous sketches of the view west from Swyre Head.

A favourite bench to sit and notice

Finally I completed the newest pirate chest I started working at on Tuesday on my last duty – View from the Captain’s cabin.

Decisions –

I had to make some difficult decisions re. My part in The Courtyard Studio today as unfortunately the current situation is not a good fit for my mental health. There will be changes this week that I will be making and I will share them a bit at a time.

I apologise for any inconvenience to my customers now and potential future ones but for me to enjoy my art and shopkeeper, member of business community locally roles I must make changes to the way I use my time in the shop.

Opening times:

I will continue to have the shop open from 10 to 5 on all Monday, Tuesday and Saturday shifts as currently.

I will still be doing my 10 to 5 shifts on our Wednesday two weeks on, two weeks other artist rotation.
