A constructive day
Today, I made a new window display stand from two smaller remains of pallet and various other offcuts from previous shop diy display pieces. Did it all go to plan straightaway? No, of course not. But of course I hadn’t planned it before I got to the shop today. I moved my larger window vinyl up the window without adding too many bubbles using some patience and a nectar card applicator.
A very Heath Robinson style Mr K construction as usual. Aided by Martin from Daisy Mays to add a range of my art in the new display.
It doesn’t compare to the paid for furniture made for my co tenant but it is my style and didn’t cost anything as recycling offcuts and fixings already bought.
Also today I went out and took photos of the businesses open today in The Heart of Swanage for a post for the area – neither cafe open today but it was wet a lot of the day.
I welcomed a range of visitors to the shop, many down and a wet day to start their week but the forecast improves from here. A poor sales day, but that’s the way it is sometimes. Proofs of my new cards for ‘Summer leaves’ and ‘Rest and Admire’ arrived and were fine so let printer know for Thursday pickup and new prints too – tomorrow a stockcheck on mount kits and I suspect a new order.
Also as my co-tenant won’t refuse to sell my work on her days as requested, a full shop stocktake needed of cards, art materials, prints and original art again too – she doesn’t keep a record of sales made either – or if she does she doesn’t share it with me.
Also new folding artists chair which arrived on Friday has been tested, very stable and comfortable. I look forward to using for Art for Fun or drawing outside the shop.
Purbeck Art Weeks – posters and flyers arrived for me as the Swanage hub and have let people know I have her but available only on my days.
Finally spent evening watching boat tracker, live webcam from Haven hotel at mouth of Poole Harbour and then binoculars and camera plus zoom to watch the sailing cruise ship Golden Horizon depart from Poole harbour today.
All in all a very constructive day with a lot done.
