Saturday…so much going on…

Swanage came alive again today. In town today we had:

Swanage Folk Festival, lots of people from Morris teams walking around town bells a ringing

Swanage Sea Rowing Club having a small regatta in the bay

Purbeck Art Weeks for visual art started today.

I walked to the shop via the sea front and took some photos of the rowers gigs on Monkey beach. Later I drew an original postcard based on some of the gigs present.

Lots of folk week dancers walked past the shop today and we were also treated to a performance by local shanty men Kelp this afternoon outside Chococo.

…oh the shop…yes best day of sales on a single day since July from last shop and this one. 6 art for fun participants – split equally between adults and children.

….the privilege of a visit by Bentley the travelling sheep

I was privileged to a visit

This evening Anne and I went to the evening gig at the folk festival. Bram Taylor who got the crowd singing; unfortunately Ninebarrow had to pull out, instead we were introduced to Steve Hicks and Lynne Goulburn – amazing musicianship especially by SH; finally Sam Kelly and the Lost Bays. A great evening of music at which we saw several local friends from different aspects of our local life in Swanage.

Tomorrow on duty at Rollington barn, stewarding visitors and an outfit so they will know who I am even without a stewards badge and a relaxed afternoon, well that’s the plan. Back in the shop at 10 on Monday.
