Inktober day 12
Today was another dry day, I sat outside all day and drew for quite a bit of it. The official prompt for a inktober today was “stuck” but to be honest, I wasn’t stuck at all as I worked on four pieces straight off this morning.
Firstly I used the photos I had taken on Sunday’s kayak to add to and complete the Ballard Down piece on the wooden box. I have now completed the four sides that I am drawing on and know that it is he most detailed box I have ever drawn to date, so the next conundrum was deciding a price to put it up for sale at.

So the price I have set is £125 and the box is now up for sale.
Then I returned to drawings from the weekend and added colour to them:

So work on four drawings instead of one for Inktober. I also looked at the preparatory drawings I had done for the box ends and then used on Friday for filming with Jacob as an added detail and then colour. These have now been cut into the two separate drawings and up for £15 each to join the cotton rag paper pen and ink piece I did recently.

I also packaged an online order through an old geography acquaintance for cards. Then a shop visitor from Birmingham who found my art through a new love for Swanage in 2021 and then searched #swanage on Instagram and came across my #goodmorning from … posts that I do daily. – an interesting way how social media can lead contacts / followers to visitors and customers.
This afternoon I also started some other work on Ballard Down using colour after the observations made on Thursday and Sunday from kayaking and Monday’s ferry trip. I feel that this stretch of the local geology offers a lot of drawing opportunities as well as a panoramic view from Ballard Head to Handfast Point and Old Harry Rocks.
Also today Jude, a local friend came down to draw together and chat which was nice. Not the busiest of shop days but definitely an arty day with a lot to show for it.
