Black Friday arts materials arrive
DPD emailed yesterday they had my parcel from Cass Art. We arranged a safe place to leave my delivery for Monday as it is a non shop day and I would not be in. Then this morning the delivery date had changed to today.
So I used lack Friday to restock on Posca markers for future window designs at AndyKnillArt Studio and also to add to my range of colours for box and hat works.
Also my stock of ProMarker sets and fineliners that I sell to customers intwrested in trying them as an art medium, often after using them as part of the art for fun initiative.
To maintain my policy of maintaining my set price as near as possible to the major retailers (online) throughout the year for these sets I buy them up when I find them at a sale event, my profit margin is sometimes small per set but as I have always said I sell the same materials that I use in my own art as I am qualified to explain to people about what you may produce with the, and I can refer to particular pieces of my work to demonstrate different effects.
So today one colour chart / marker stocktake sheet and marker test and add to shop set (my work and art for fun use), home studio set and finally the spare marker set for when shop markers are worn out. Cataloguing, unwrapping and rehoming. This kept me busy throughout the day between journeys to look out of the door to see if voices linked to possible visitors, making hot drinks, serving customers, chatting to friends. New stock is now sorted checked and out away in folders, drawer or at home.
Today was so cold that I sat by the radiator in the shop on eco mode all day to keep warm. Tuesday 30 I am closed for a family occasion so I finish November trading slightly down on 2020 when I spent the whole month of lockdown 2 working on commissions throughout. The increase in trading over 2020/21 continues to grow, I will maintain my target of selling some art but I do start to aspire to certain sales achievements by April 5 2022 and he end of the tax year.
I returned home to hear that I will be having compulsory mask wearing again in the shop from December 1 including me as I no longer work behind a screen as the shop layout does not allow that. This is the government response to Ormicron, the new Covid variant.
