Sketching for mindfulness
Today we were out and amongst other things visited and dropped some new pieces off at my printer. I am not completely sure why but I have been on edge a bit recently and at lunch we were at a favourite tea shop with toasted sandwiches with Blue Viney and bacon mmmm.
I had a sketch pad and a set of pens with me. To calm my mind I did a little sketching of the shop as we waited for our lunch.

This is how I got into art in the first place with first purchase of a sketchbook in June 2015. On Monday next week it will be 5 years since I started the whole AndyKnillArt thing with that initial aim to see if my art would sell.
I am glad today that I had my sketch pad because after drawing I was in a much better state of mind. Sometimes art can just be a distraction to other things in our lives, it’s why I advocate Art for fun for all ages.
I also sat and watched the bay this afternoon and enjoyed the colours.
