AndyKnillArt Studio months 6 to 12.
Having looked yesterday at a brief summary of five years of AndyKnillArt today I want to look forwards with AndyKnillArt Studio and plans for the shop going into month 6 and the period through to its first anniversary on September 1.
I have settled in well to having my own space. The needs of working inside have led to changes in layout that allow me to sit close to the radiator at the side of the shop. I have gradually established the right hand main wall on entry into the originals side of the shop.
I started to think about whether to build new furniture etc but have decided to stick with my studio, shop feel as that is what the space is for. I have flexibility with seating and tables inside the shop so that I can accommodate some art for fun indoors as it is too cold to be back outdoors yet.
As we get to March and April temperatures may allow art for fun outside again and I hope especially in the Easter to end of August summer holidays that the Art for fun activity can bring in hundreds to try drawing for fun.
In May / June I will open the unit as my Open Studio for Purbeck Art Weeks six days a week – both Mondays I will be on duties stewarding at Rollington barn as an exhibitor there as well.
I will try to produce some linked art to various events in Swanage’s calendar depending on finding suitable inspiration. Throughout the year I will work my four public open days. On Tuesdays I may need to close earlier once sailing training and possible safety boat duties restart in April. In the school holidays there will be some extra opening days which will be advertised beforehand.
Art wise. I have my 2022 project of learning linocut techniques and producing some locally inspired works linked to this technique. I also have my panorama project which will include working on larger pieces upto potentially 1.5 metres in width. The tree collection will no doubt be extended and more pieces focused on Durlston Country Park and Castle. I also need to get out more along the SW coast path for views of less accessible locations that I may have drawn before or not as the case may be.
Beyond that, as I always do I will be Inspired by what catches my eye be it the natural environment, the built environment or activities within them. I prefer to go with the flow.
Thanks for the support so far and I look forward to meeting even more of you going forwards.
