Printers and sketching
I placed an order for mainly reprints last week and some new pieces too. Today we collected my order, left a new one for my recently completed panorama and a card order for an artist friend.
We always combine a visit to the printer with some time out and a drive in the Dorset countryside. Today as I wanted some more workwear to draw on we headed into Weymouth.
So a day off, so no art, apart from collecting items….well no, as I always have a sketchbook with me and today was no exception. As I always say when asked about how do you develop your work and my answer is always practice. So one coffee shop sketch left – in Cafe Nero, it is rare that we go to a National chain coffee store these days but it was convenient on our arrival.

As always I was carrying my camera and phone so other photos taken of different angles of aspects of Weymouth for possible future pieces. It is lovely also to see how the harbour / riverfront area is developing and also discovering some new architectural gems in the town centre.
Lunch by the water at the Stone Pier Cafe below the Nothe Fort. A sketch his time across Weymouth Bay towards Osmington and the white horse and rider.

On the way home we picked up some more Purbeck Art Weeks publicity materials and chatted with artist acquaintances at the Boilerhouse.
A lovely day out with time out in the Dorset countryside and by the coast.
