PAW 2022 first weekend
May has been a very slow month, unsurprisingly as the cost of living crisis deepens and art is in no way an essential item to be buying. The question in my mind would PAW see the usual art lovers out and about?
Two days in and I have taken this month’s sales from my worst month of 2022 to its best. A range of prints, an original today, cards and other items.
Over 65 visitors and many conversations about the area of Purbeck, technique and using markers to create my work, places drawn…
I have had a very good first two days and am reassured that I have met a range of people interested in art and in a position to be able to buy it still. I have found out that two local artists’ children are in the classes I met last week at Swanage a primary and that our first session had gone down well.
Art for fun has now passed 400 participants in 8 months and I hope that with half term here that more will take part over the next week. My original aspirational target of 500 in my first year looks like it may comfortably be reached.
I have also found the time to add two more original postcard drawings and today started another pirate ship chest to add to my stock. I have a number of ideas of pieces to work on going forwards from May.
Thanks to all my visitors so far. Tomorrow is my first Rollington stewarding day as a Rollington artist and I am looking forward to welcoming visitors in my normal attire.
