Purbeck Art Weeks 2022…

So, PAW returned to its half term / week after setting as we had in 2017, 2018 and 2019 when I was based at Hillview for my Open Studio only. For the second event in a row I paid to be exhibited in Rollington as well as have my Open studio for visitors.

The event finishes tomorrow, but due to my chest infection, I am not opening at the shop tomorrow, so I have done some summing up this evening.

This year in the:

Rollington – 16* days of opening (*1 to go) I have sold 2 prints and 25 cards. My greatest total sales at Rollington to date.

Open Studio – now established at AndyKnillArt Studio which I had only just moved into for 2021 event and was not registered as an Open Studio. 10 days open (4 planned days lost to illness). I have welcomed 404 visitors and will continue to keep visitor numbers going forwards to see if I can find any discernible trends.

In those 10 days 106 participants have taken part in Art for Fun as an activity.

Sales I haven’t looked at total of different items but have taken just below £1100 sales in 10 days.

In conclusion, I am a very happy artist and vindicated that my work is desired. Yes, the current economic climate will mean there will be visitors who can only afford to look but there is a demand there to meet. May had been a hard start as months go but ai look forward to how sales go forwards over Summer 2022.

It has also opened more ideas for me and ideas to continue to develop my plans for projects including panoramas and Linoprint work going through the second half of 2022.
