New panorama developing
At the start of 2022 I set myself two targets to work on; to try some Lino/relief printing; to draw some panoramas.
I have produced some Linoprint pieces but need to return to printing best copies of my drystonewall series; developing use of the beach marker piece and continue to sell the kayaker cards.
Panoramawise – I drew the ‘Swanage Pier reflections’ piece – cards are selling but I have yet to get the prints I had mad mounted as these and the original need to go on sale. ‘North of the bay’ I have the original on display and second prints on sale and cards. I also need together I’ll size prints mounted for sale.
This week on several evening walks I have been taking sequences of photos knowing that Google photos will stitch them together as panoramas that I can draw from. So I have started one showing the houses, RNLI station and fisherman’s huts and slipways along the southern side of the bay. I am working on an 80 x 30 cm canvas again and drawing in Posca markers.
The hot weather means I am getting less done at this end of the week as it is mainly too hot outside, but I want to be outside as part of shop visibility.
Pictures of progress so far:

So already the idea of a base colour layer that I can add to or lighten. Last nights walk included walking this section and noticing aspects in more detail – revisiting the scene.
In addition I have the north beach pebbles scene to come up with a name for, have converted into prints and cards too plus I have started to do more line drawings in the new sketchbook which is more robust than the Kraft paper pad.
