Short turn around challenge
Today at about 1 pm a visit to the shop from an acquaintance – his wedding anniversary is today! Could I do a special card – price set by me then changed by him and my wife that I was undercharging. I remembered to ask which anniversary. He gave me a vague concept based on the London borough they used to live in and Swanage.
I said come back in two hours. I googled said borough and one of the first hinges to come up was a Tube sign (London Underground). So I started wih the number of the anniversary coloured in silver then the tube sign and the sign found on Swanage railway platform.
What could I compare or link between the two places so again google and parks. I found a park in the borough with a lake and used this to model a pen and ink drawing. Then drawn from my head a drawing based on Swanage seafront where his wife often swims.
I used Posca pens for colour and actually messaged him about 45 minutes on to say the pen was drying on the card.
He came back at about 3pm as originally agreed and seemed happy with it.
Creativity in groove – ideas do not always strike that fast but I was pleased to get a customer and turn round a commission piece so quickly. Next time though I think he should, plan ahead a bit more.

… nice job, Andy !! ;o) …
Thanks,I learnt later he did order the card the day before the anniversary, luckily as they were away for it.
