June 24 2023 and blog reset
As those of you who have followed the development of AndyKnillArt will have noticed for a while I have neglected the blog as I post regularly on social media mainly through https://www.instagram.com/andyknillartstudio . I have found the photo aspect of Instagram easy todo while working at the studio.
Now I need to reset my use of this website and blog and also works the items catalogue and structure of the online shop as I am now getting more enquiries about online sales as some of you don’t get to Swanage that often.
Spring 2023 update
A new financial year and April, May and June 2023 have all seen increased sales over 2022/23 and in the case of this month my best ever June sales.
My best Purbeck Art Weeks especially my sales at Rollington Barn as an exhibiting artist.
Already in Year 2 of the studio / shop at 21 Commercial Road Art for Fun numbers are over 100 ahead of 2022’s at this time of the year with the summer holiday rush to come (fingers crossed).
Outfits
I now have 12 hand drawn items of clothing in various states since I started these at Artisans on the Beach in December 2018. The newest, which got a lot of positive feedback during Purbeck Art Weeks at Rollington is the New Zealand trip trousers (North Island fortnight only).
Pith helmets
I still have my original logo helmet from 2020 and also the Art for Fun flower design drawn in 2022. The latest I did for myself then went to Rollington and sold.
I have recently seen the most recent commission helmet received for a 50th birthday present.
In 2023/24 I hope to investigate drawing on more practical items that may attract buyers.the Pith helmet commission range continues and can be provided on a fancy free base soft shell hat or a new Vietnamese made helmet supplied from Snooks, Bridport.
Wooden boxes
These have proved popular since the first ones sold at Artisans on the Beach in 2017. I now use Posca acrylic markers for the colour work. I maintain a small stock of designs in a range of sizes in the shop.
The price range for these unique hand drawn original pieces of art are:
Ring box £7.50
Chest £15
Hexagon box £30
Medium box £100
Large box £150
Greeting cards
I have maintained the same price point since first selling cards in March 2017 of £2 per card and 3 for £5. I believe in this price point and cards are sent by put also framed by buyers. In June 2023 sales are approaching 7500 cards sold.
Post cards
Four printed designs sell at £0.50 each.
Giclee / fine art quality prints
The prints in a mount to fit a 16” x 12” standard frame are still priced at £25. Larger prints to fit a 20” x 16” standard frame are £50.
Custom mount panoramic pieces are priced individually linked to size and mounting costs.
Original art pieces
These come in a variety of forms from A6 postcards at a discounted £5 price to panoramas measuring 80 x 30 cm which are priced at £500. A4 and A3 pieces are sold in mounts (16” x 12” or 20” x 16”) these are generally priced at £150 and £250 respectively but older pieces are still sold at their initial sale price. Newer more detailed works may be priced individually.
Any questions?
Hopefully this post gives an update on how the business is going. More detailed and specific focus posts to come on a more regular frequency than earlier this year.
