Into December and the countdown to that C******s festival
So December has started. We had the town’s Rotary Christmas Fair on Saturday, last year saw a very poor day for my sales. This year a crisp, sunny but freezing day saw lots of card sales.
In the last week, a visitor to the town who saw one of my cards on display in Pursenalities ordered a print from me online. I have drawn a commissioned birthday card; a commissioned picture to mark the 18th anniversary of a long term employee and just done a hand drawn wooden box with 4 local scenes for a grandchild’s ‘Christmas Eve box’ not something I had heard of before.
Last week I also had a new couple discover the shop, like the art and buy several pieces as presents for family.
Today has been more an admin day with some stocktaking, ordering new card stocks where numbers are running low. I have low bought myself some new tools to restart trying linocut printing for myself having been inspired by a number of artists locally in exhibition and PAW 2023. The plan is to try ideas out and just play to start with and enjoy a new technique for myself first before thinking about selling work.
Also tomorrow I shall continue with my Storm Ciaran meets my artwork piece. There will be more new drawings no doubt but I am in no rush and know that at some point two new primed aluminium panels will arrive to add to the flood defences project.
