With small clients come germs
February, firstly has been much better for sales than January, I have covered my rent already. Art for fun has proved more popular over half term especially and I have now hosted 28 sessions this month so far.
The commissioned chest has now reached a happy client who will be gifting it this weekend, a birthday card drawn this week reaches its recipient this weekend.
My drawing time has been reduced while interacting with customers and young artists, that’s fine and b very enjoyable to have 6+ returning families come and do some more drawing and seeing how the youngsters are as well as parents and even grandparents with them. Trying to remember names again is sometimes a challenge.
The new double sided A5 leaflet is out and is in the shop, customer bags and Swanage Information Centre. The draft programme for Purbeck Art Weeks 2 has my half paged advert too and it will be interesting to see what impact that has on visitor numbers.
Yesterday I drew two new book marks after sales have left me with just one in stock. Clients came in for a discussion after first draft idea for their commission. Two local organisations have approached me for some other work too.
And that title… I have mainly sat in a heated studio on my own so have been healthy even if not always rested through patchy sleep, this week small people have brought germs in nd the shop gets quite crowded. Last night a cold caught up with me so todays rest day was just that and I have decided that explosive sneezes won’t endear me to customers so Friday I shall have to be closed but I hope to be back in on Saturday.
