New Year – 2026

I still haven’t drawn up that posting schedule but have started to put out some posts again about what Ido and see if through social media at least it brings any new viewers / visitors in.

On reviewing 2025 sales, I definitely achieved my target of ‘selling some art’ and the business covered its costs so the shop is still viable. It’s remembering to look to the pattern cross the whole year and not to forget this when in the quieter months as we are at the present.

Cards and postcards still sell but the cost of postage is more noticeable in conversations with customers. Prints – I am still selling approx. 1 per week overall but the sales are noticeably less than previously.

My Introduction to Art initiative with smaller original pies at £10 or less is working and selling more pieces but obviously each one only contributes a small amount to the coffers a it were.

Art for Fun is now self financing through the donation charge since February 2025 and the charge does not raise any issues now for visitors.

2026 plans

1. I am not taking part in Purbeck Art Weeks for the first time, we will see if this makes a difference, the half term is usually busy because of families anyway.
2. I have 7 guest artists booked from April to October inclusively and we will see if we can gain any sales for them, and bring any new visitors to the shop.
3. Raw Wall Collective are looking at doing some more events which I hope to participate in in BCP
4. Link with Pier journal as local distributor will continue
5. Art for Fun I anticipate will continue to welcome 12-1300 sessions, Swanage Carnival event already mentioned.

Otherwise – drawing, trying some more Lino printing and see what happens with 9th anniversary of AndyKnillArt on 31 Jan and 5th anniversary of shop on 1 Sept. And we will see how it goes.
