Andy Knill Art News 11th May or thereabouts. . .
Hi to regular readers and anyone new.
16 days in the countdown to Purbeck Art Weeks 2017 and Open Studio 22 opens its doors for people to visit, see my art, chat about it, maybe purchase something maybe not. Suddenly the reality seems much closer as forms are filled in and dispatched for different exhibiting venues. All framed work has been collected and last touches are being made.
I have bought new canvases to work on during PAW in the studio at home.
Pieces to see in exhibitions linked to PAW 2017 May 27 – June 11
Rollington – this will be a canvas piece of Corfe Castle, either a completion of piece I started last week or a new one with a change in focus.
Etches – this exhibition starts on Saturday 20th May to June 11th. My piece links back to my interest in architecture of buildings from my urban sketching in London and Cambridge.
Verges – this runs at RSPB Arne. The focus of wildflower Verges. My landscape is a generic Dorset one with the rolling hills, agricultural use, a drystone wall and the wildflower verges.
Art workshop, Swanage – I will have some acrylic pieces on show that I have been working on this term as I have discovered painting. The pictures are sea based. There will be some examples of art workshop pieces in the Open Studio too.
Open Studio 22 – I will be producing new work throughout PAW17. Work on display will include my sketchbooks to date, work from urbansketchwalks, and other pieces kept to show my work progression, photo canvases, cards collection, fine art prints, canvas works …
The last piece of the jigsaw will be changes / development of my studio itself – please note it is a rustic building without electricity or heating but a charm of its own.
I look forward to welcoming visitors and talking about my surroundings and my art.
