A new calendar year starts and with it some changes in approach planned for getting my art out to people. At the end of January I will celebrate three years since setting myself the label “artist” and will comment on what I have achieved in that time.
So,how will 2020 be different?
As I have mentioned in previous posts I will not be doing all the same events.
Entry for Purbeck Art Weeks 2020, this year a change of approach. No longer will my Open Studio be at home, nor will I be open everyday. This year the intention will be to use The Courtyard Studio shop as the Open Studio for Jo Porter and I. Also I intend to enter for a screen of pieces at Rollington Barn. For duties I will choose to do duties stewarding at Rollington to meet visitors during the event and also I shall be able to visit studios as I have never been able to in the last three years of my participation with Anne.
The development of the shop continues to be top priority at 7, Tilly Mead, Commercial Road, Swanage BH19 1DF. This month I will be working Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday and offering the “Art for Fun” table and pens on each of those days.
For the next four Fridays I have been invited to take a lead with the art group run by Suzanne Dominy and Art Workshop Swanage under the heading of “Stepping into Nature”. This will be my first time leading an adult group after my work with primary pupils at Swanage Primary School.
At the Purbeck Artisan Yard I will be doing duties on Mondays to help Eddie Burrows with the redevelopment of our Artisans kitchen area.
February to April
Development of my work through the shop in Swanage and the Purbeck ArtisanYard in Wareham.
May / June
Finalising work for Purbeck Art Weeks in our shop space and my work for Rollington Barn.
July to September
Developing work once more and learning what it is to run a shop during the summer holiday season.
October to December
Developing work up to Christmas 2020 when I will no longer be a part of “Artisans on the Beach”
I am sure, other months may fill up with more commitments as the year develops. My aim throughout is to continue to promote the “Art for fun” message and encourage people to try drawing. My work will vary depending on my interests at the time, I hope to offer more examples of my own photography. At all times my sales target will continue to be – “to sell some art” because that is enough detail for me.
I hope to see many of you on this ongoing journey as my work continues to develop through practice.<div class='sharedaddy sd-block sd-like jetpack-likes-widget-wrapper jetpack-likes-widget-unloaded' id='like-post-wrapper-123416164-1988-5e8769777f108' data-src='https://widgets.wp.com/likes/#blog_id=123416164&post_id=1988&origin=andyknillart.com&obj_id=123416164-1988-5e8769777f108' data-name='like-post-frame-123416164-1988-5e8769777f108'><h3 class="sd-title">Like this:</h3><div class='likes-widget-placeholder post-likes-widget-placeholder' style='height: 55px;'><span class='button'><span>Like</span></span> <span class="loading">Loading...</span></div><span class='sd-text-color'></span><a class='sd-link-color'></a></div>
