In use
Today’s MarchMeettheMaker prompt for day 12 is “In use”, I have seen others show photos from customers where their art has been hung or displayed. Of course as I draw on things I thought they would be better examples for me.
So,…

Robin’s hat featured the yacht that he sails off Studland Bay, Captain Pugwash (a nickname), an operating theatre with a tray of intriguing tools as he used to be an orthopaedic surgeon and a simplified nautical chart of Poole harbour entrance to Swanage.

Alison is a friend, a slightly bonkers one who in 2020 complete a Quin over 6 days – that was 5 back to back Ironman triathlons. I wanted to have a record of each of the three events and support she got from family and friends. I supported Alison on day one paddling 12 miles in my kayak around a swimming lake as she swam. I also got to walk about the last 4 miles in Rempstone forest with her and several of her exercise buddies. Her next plan is a Deca (10 back to back Ironman triathlons!!).

In 2020 I was commissioned to produce three images rough the year for Pav. The two card designs here, a Christmas card and some of these were used on the website too as Pav bought the image copyright. The hat – yes also by me and commissioned by staff who work at the goat for his birthday.
Finally three outfits all drawn by me and used…

These have the 2017, 2018 and 2019 card designs drawn on by me. I need to add the 2020 addition and the 2021 designs (still to be drawn). This was Artisans on the Beach 2019 by which time I shared the shop and beach hut and got to work 7 days a week for the month – I had Christmas Day off.

The temptation with this suit is to add other art but it will be my logo suit. I may add details on where to find me online and the shop but nothing more.

The art for fun suit started in Purbeck Art Weeks 2019 and then the two legs contain drawings by Years 3 and 4 in Autumn 2019 at Swanage Primary School as part of my sketching project with them. The previous classes I worked with had my original drawings done with the classes donated to the school. Obviously the logo hat. The jungle hat is the only one left on sale presently as all the other hats are with their new owners. More to be drawn in 2021 designed by me for the shop and / or commissions.
So, I think you will agree these are all good examples of art in use.
