Loss of sleep – chill time

I had one of my almost sleepless nights last night where I slept for a couple of hours then a pounding head meant I couldn’t sleep and the more I couldn’t sleep the tenser and tighter my neck and shoulders became.

Eventually at 5am I threw in the towel and went for a walk on the beach. I was out from 5 until almost 7. I skimmed stones, I watched the indistinct sunrise. I noticed the lights in town and when they switched off. The headache didn’t entirely go but after 9500 steps I did sleep on my return even if still in two 2 hour stints.

This afternoon after a shopping trip for food I actually made some progress on the latest commission – this was unexpected and I did the initial line drawing added sky colour and grass in a garden. I am planning in my head what to add next in line form. For a change this time I am going to add colour then do mortaring of stone in buildings after colour.

This week I will be doing some decorating in the shop and trying to reach a compromise between Andy style and shop standard. Also the kingfisher memories box will be gifted to its recipient and I look forward to hearing how that goes.

This evening we caught up with an episode of Grayson Perry’s Art Club which reminded me that once all commissions are done I need to just draw some pieces again for me for fun and if suitable put them out in the shop and see how they go down with visitors.

So a poor start to the day but some good progress in the end.
