Hands On

Marchmeetthemaker day 22 and we are back to official prompts. Today it is Hands On. A good day to exemplify this because as with most small businesses there is always something to be done.

Targeting April 12 as potential reopening day for the shop. It is time to brighten things up. In June 2020 I came up with my AndyKnillArt logo with background colours representing the landscape of Purbeck.

Logo designed June 2020

The colours working down are:

Light blue – the sky

Green – grass, trees, fields of the landscape

Grey – the limestone ridge on the southern side of Purbeck which runs to the Isle of Portland

White – the chalk ridge on the northern side of Swanage and which runs throughout Southern Dorset

Yellow – the Sandy beahces

Dark blue – the sea

I have previously added this on:

Logo boiler suit and pith helmet

Logo background colours

My home studio and office.

And now I am adding this background to the areas of the shop which are mine. I want to use this bold colour scheme which represents me and my art and make my sections of the shop stand out more. Today I started the decorating process and have so far done two coats of sky on three sections and the sea has had one coat on the same sections.

Tomorrow I will just add white rather than the grey / white split. Then I will have the green and yellow layers to add. I look forward to feedback from visitors to the shop. I will post photos of the shop once I have completed the paint layers (or see today’s post on @andy.knill Instagram account).
