Noticing on the water
Today wasn’t going to be an art day as yesterday had been so draining moving things into the new shop. I lie, I planned to do some measuring in the new shop this afternoon but forgot to take the shop keys.
We woke early and stayed up, had breakfast early and the bay looked pretty calm. The northerly wind meant the bay might be slightly choppy. We decided some water time would be good therapy for me and downtime. I didn’t want to sail as that would mean racing and I wanted a calmer and less energetic time in the bay.
I headed down to the club and took my sea kayak out in the bay. I was on the water by just after 9. Some yachts in the bay but already a number of powerboats and jet skis about. Offshore a powerboat race went past along with its accompanying helicopter camera crews. In the bay the rowing club had two gigs out, lots of people in kayaks and on paddle boards. And people in the sea.

I love being on the water for the exercise, the views, the watching of other activities, often seeing other friends out on the water too and finally just enjoying the scenery from a different perspective. This has helped inspire numerous pieces of art previously and will continue to do so again.
