Inktober day 8 and opening on a Friday

So today’s Inktober prompt was watch and I did three small sketches based on that.

Inktober day 8 watch

The shop morning was good working with Jacob acting as my videographer who is making me a digital film piece to advertise the shop. He got me to draw some line work and then add colour with some interesting angles using his GoPro. I look forward to the results.

Then three art for fun participants – all adults. Paul a local friend brought his own materials to paint some sunflowers, apparently someone did quite well out of a painting of these in the past.

Then Katie who had visited the other day came, it turned out that she lives v close to where we used to live in Essex. She was trying the ProMarkers out and later bought a set. We discussed technique quite a bit. Then John and Anne at the end of their holiday that had started with last weekends torrential blues festival. Again discussion of art tools, stockists and Anne bought herself some ProMarkers too.

This afternoon we had a drizzly patch in the day when it was quiet and all of the materials were put away inside the shop. Then a visit from acquaintances seeking a piece seen on Instagram for a 60th birthday present, this became the original artwork of Durlston Cliffs and Lighthouse, so a very good sales day for me.

Home along the seafront looking at the shoreline exposed by the low spring tide.

Shore and rocks to start of the pier.
More of the broken legs of the old pier exposed
Rocks on the southern side of the bay that seemed to include some steps and an old track or line through the seaweed covered rocks.

An evening of rest and Saturday tomorrow, back at the shop. Another great day.
