October starts and …
9 days since my last post. So what has been happening.
RNLI Swanage Christmas card
This has now gone on sale and I have a poster linked to it in the shop. The Facebook post by the lifeboat station has had over 100 likes and already people are telling me they have bought their cards, knowing that in previous years they have sold out.

Own new Santa over… design
Shelved for the moment as I have a lot on and deadlines to meet, but I will have another go at my design idea in the next fortnight or so.
Community Art Project with Dorset Coast Forum
Designs all ok, first primed aluminium panels collected on Monday 2nd. Two shop days plus an extra morning drawing today and my first bumper long, bumper end and full end panels are drawn and ready for sealing. They show the history of Monkey beach for Cutters sending the monkey boats in to collect fresh drinking water from the spring.

I await the delivery of my remaining 6 long panels.
ArtBattle Bournemouth
Last Sunday I took part in the inaugural ArtBattle event for Bournemouth run by Untapped Art Therapy who provide art therapy for young people in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole areas.
A great experience alongside 11 other artists ranging from new first year AUB students to final year students, graduates and some other local artists with a range of styles and media.
20 minutes to draw a piece – I focused on mental health because it’s personal relevance for me and the charity. It didn’t attract a bid so I have bought it to hang in the shop.
I hope to attend more events in the future and hope my offer to share some of my experience in selling art to be taken up by some of the AUB students.

Inktober and Boatober
I am drawing a picture daily for each of these Instagram based challenges and displaying them on the gallery wall in the studio in lieu of a guest artist for October.
Card sales
9 days ago Imposted that card sales have passed 8000, today that figure reached 8200!
Yes, I am busy and enjoying it. The idea of doing more large scale work now really appeals and the shop continues to attract steady custom with new commission possibilities to follow the coastal art project which I will start adding to with four members of All Sortd next week, assuming new panels have arrived.
