September 2023 part 2
So 8 days ago, I posted about September in the life of AndyKnill Art. Things change so this is an update…
Community art project

Yes, the project is advancing. I put my Posca marker order in, it has arrived and I will receive it this week. The aluminium panels we will draw / paint on are due tomorrow so by Saturday I should be drawing my designs on, well starting to, …
My input from All Sort’d has been decided as I received some discussions that were held and also which four of the clients will work with me. The group are on a high lid at this week so more about this next week as the project kicks in.
Swanage RNLI Christmas card
Went to the the printers and todayI saw the cards and apparently posters about them due imminently too as they go on sale.

Santa over… new card
New design first draft didn’t work and other things have taken over for the moment. To return to around other commitments.
ArtBattle
I received information and an invite to apply to take part in Art Battle Bournemouth that is on Sunday October 1. I applied and was accepted. Quite daunted when I saw and read about the other artists – lots of AUB and other talented artists but as another competitor said – your application was accepted too. So my plan is to attend wearing one of my pith helmets and probably my landscape suit. I will be working in Posca markers.
Oh yes, what is an ArtBattle – a competition between 12 artists to produce a piece of work,on canvas in 20 minutes. This one is in aid of the charity Untapped Art Therapy based in Bournemouth.
Completely out of any zone have ever tried art in before but what the heck I am going for it and an opportunity to possibly sell some of my works too for a 20% commission.

Back at the studio
A new window design.

Art for Fun
September has now beaten last year’s totals for children and adults and overall, a good start to year 3 with 3 more possible shop days.
Card sales
These have now passed 8100 – steady sales presently are very encouraging.
Pen stock up
I bought stock updates of both Poscas and ProMarkers – now to work out where to store them all. After a few days of marker testing, logging and prepping.
Guest artist wall for October
The plan is to post the Inktober 2023 prompts and any art for fun pictures linked to them will be made into a gallery. I am going to squeeze in Boatober (a first for me) and Inktober pieces alongside the coastal art project which will finish in half term when hopefully art for fun really takes off again.
Advanced warning
The Friday and Saturday 27 and 28 October (usually Trick or Treat Saturday in town) I will be away for my cousin’s wedding in Kent so the shop will be closed on both days.
