Admin and radio interview

This afternoon I spent time on several sites where I have information about the shop and business updating covid information and confirming reopening plans from Monday. Having had a phone call to check if I was ok to be interviewed live on air I shared posts so that others would be aware of my interview. I had a small chat with a lady from the station this morning, sorting best line to call me on and checking a few points.

Many years ago as a teacher I used an app called Sock Puppets and a character called Socks “who liked to go on the radio”.

This was Socks who I used to make presentations with

This would be my third contact with radio – I have been interviewed on our Swanage station Purbeck Coast which was live in the studio and I felt very relaxed which came across in the interview, plus I was sat comfortably before we started and Annabel the presenter talked me through what would happen.

The other week I did an online all with Greatest Hits Dorset which wasn’t live so no pressure.

Today’s felt different as I listened to the Drivetime show beforehand and then as it got closer, Anne went downstairs to listen in. The phone rang and I was cued with a song lead in and then I was being interviewed.

Sam Fraser also weather presenter on BBC South

Sam asked good questions, I kept my answers short and it felt surreal standing in our home but when I listened back to it afterwards I was very pleased. Hopefully visitors to Swanage will now be searching for the man in the pith helmet and boiler suits. I used my business name AndyKnillArt a rather than the shop name but this links well to the large vinyl in my front window space declaring where I can be found. When the show link is available I will post it in case anyone wants to listen to it.

We then had a walk along the seafront. Another good day.
